Old Cookbooks and Ginger Biscuits – Chef’s Blade

Ahh, can’t find half my stuff since I moved.. I can relate! These biscuits sound wonderful!

I have rediscovered my since moving, and, in particular, one. It’s called Dungeness Crabs and : The Northwest Heritage Cookbook by Janie Hibler. It is a historical compilation of recipes from all over the northwest, complete with stories, old photos, and the original recipes.

Chocolate Mint Cookies Recipe

Here’s an old recipe, I don’t even know where I got it. I found it in my little recipe box handwritten on a slip of paper. I’ve never even tried it till today, but the cookies did turn out fantastic!!

Ingredients

Directions:

Combine , and together in a bowl and mix. In a separate bowl, combine brown , granulated , , applesauce, extracts and egg white and beat with a hand mixer until well blended. Combine mixture with mixture to form dough. Roll into a log and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the freezer for about 1 hour until firm. Slice into quarter inch pieces and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Cool and serve.

Giant Sugar Cookies – Joy the Baker

You know what? You deserve a break. Seriously. It’s Saturday. Let’s take it easy.

I know… I know. You have that whole list of things to do. Sure, you need to get the car washed. Yes, there’s that thing about going to the pet store, and getting a present for your mother-in-law’s church friend’s niece. You’ve got a lot on your plate. I know. But… well what would happen, if for today, you kicked the list to the curb and kicked you feet up on the couch?

I’ll tell you what would happen. The car would stay dirty, the pet store would miss you, and your mother-in-law’s church friend’s niece would have one less present at her party. She’ll have enough presents. Go on… take a break.
